Digital Accessibility at Cappital Pensioen
At Cappital Pensioen, we believe it is important that everyone can use our digital services, including people with disabilities. That is why we actively work on improving the digital accessibility of our pension portal.
Current accessibility status
The accessibility audit conducted by Stichting Accessibility on 4 March 2026 shows that the Cappital Pensioen portal does not yet comply with the WCAG 2.2 guidelines at Levels A and AA. Of the 55 success criteria, one or more issues were identified for 18 criteria. The main findings include:
- insufficient support for screen readers;
- limited keyboard accessibility;
- insufficient colour contrast and focus visibility;
- missing or incorrect labels, headings, and alternative text;
- PDF documents that are not accessible to assistive technologies.
These shortcomings may particularly affect people with visual or motor impairments.
In our accessibility statement we explain which accessibility requirements apply and how Cappital Pensioen addresses them.
What are we doing to improve this structurally?
New foundation: rebuilding the portal in Drupal 10
We are currently rebuilding the Cappital Pensioen portal in Drupal 10. This rebuild provides the technical and functional foundation for sustainable accessibility improvements. Choosing Drupal 10 enables us to:
- apply accessibility from the design stage onwards ("accessibility by design");
- embed WCAG guidelines structurally in components and templates;
- permanently resolve technical and editorial WCAG findings;
- develop and test future enhancements with accessibility in mind.
Based on this new foundation, we aim to address and sustainably resolve the identified WCAG issues later this calendar year.
Addressing the findings from Stichting Accessibility
The findings from the Stichting Accessibility audit have been analysed and are being used as input for:
- the rebuild of the portal;
- the design of accessible interface components;
- the restructuring of content and forms;
- making documents and PDFs accessible.
Improvements are being implemented not only on an individual basis, but also structurally, to prevent similar issues from occurring elsewhere on the website.
