Accessibility statement

In this accessibility statement, we explain which accessibility requirements apply and how Cappital Pensioen addresses them. You can read about the current status, how we are improving accessibility, and what you can do if something does not work properly.

What do we mean by accessibility?

For Cappital Pensioen, accessibility means that everyone can use our pension portal, including people with disabilities or impairments. For example, if you are blind or partially sighted, have a hearing impairment, or have limited use of a part of your body.

Digital accessibility means that the information on the Cappital Pensioen portal is:

  • understandable;
  • easy to use and navigate (for example, with a keyboard);
  • compatible with assistive technologies such as screen readers.

More information about the accessibility of the Cappital Pensioen website can be found on the Accessibility page. You can also contact us at any time if you have questions. Please send an email to mijncappitalpensioen@asr.nl.

Which accessibility requirements apply?

European accessibility regulations apply to digital services. These requirements are laid down in legislation such as the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and further specified in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

These requirements include:

  • clear explanations of services and how to use them;
  • information that can be found and used in different ways;
  • clear language and a logical structure;
  • the ability to use services without full vision, hearing, or mouse control;
  • sufficient colour contrast and adjustable text size;
  • alternatives for images, video, and audio content;
  • no flashing or rapidly changing visual content;
  • good support for assistive technologies;
  • customer service that understands how to assist people with disabilities.

Current status at Cappital pensioen

The accessibility of the Cappital Pensioen portal was independently assessed by Stichting Accessibility on 4 March 2026. The assessment showed that the portal does not yet fully comply with WCAG 2.2 Levels A and AA. Of the 55 success criteria, one or more issues were identified for 18 criteria. The main areas for improvement are:

  • screen reader support;
  • keyboard accessibility;
  • colour contrast and focus visibility;
  • form labels and heading structure;
  • dynamic content that is not properly announced;
  • inaccessible PDF documents.

As a result, people with visual or motor impairments may experience difficulties when using the portal.

How do we ensure continuous improvement?

Cappital Pensioen is continuously working to improve digital accessibility.

New foundation: rebuilding the pension portal

We have started rebuilding the pension portal in Drupal 10. This rebuild provides the foundation for sustainable accessibility improvements and enables us to:

  • incorporate accessibility from the design stage onward;
  • implement WCAG guidelines in a structured way;
  • resolve existing findings sustainably;
  • ensure future developments remain accessible.

Based on this foundation, we aim to address and permanently resolve the identified WCAG issues later this calendar year.

Monitoring and improvement

In addition, we:

  • monitor legislation, regulations, and new developments;
  • include accessibility considerations in design, development, and content creation;
  • use findings from accessibility audits and assessments;
  • carry out internal reviews and improvement actions.volgen we wet‑ en regelgeving en nieuwe ontwikkelingen;

Known issues and alternatives

We are working hard to improve accessibility, but some issues have not yet been fully resolved. The following are currently known areas of concern:

  • PDF documents
    Not all PDF documents are currently fully compatible with screen readers. We are working to make both new and existing documents accessible.
  • Limitations within the pension portal
    Some parts of the portal are not yet fully accessible for assistive technologies or keyboard-only users. These issues are being addressed as part of the rebuild.

Alternative options

If you are unable to use our digital services effectively due to a disability or impairment, you can always use an alternative support channel. Our staff will be happy to assist you.
